  • Team Softball – Women’s‍ ‍

Registration Information‍ ‍

  • Softball fee is $40 per team member and due at time of registration.‍ ‍

  • Ohio Senior Olympics 2026 dri-fit t-shirts are optional for an additional fee of $15. Sizes are unisex.

  • T-shirts will be preordered during registration, please indicate t-shirt size.

  • Registration closes May 23, 2026, at midnight.

  • Team Captains will be responsible for completing a Team Roster and submitting it to Ohio Senior Olympics by May 30, 2026. An official roster will be sent to each captain. 

  • Team rosters shall be limited to 22 persons, including non-playing coaches, non-playing captains and non-playing bench personnel. No more than 20 of these persons may be players. ‍ ‍

Softball – Women’s - Tournament Information‍

  • Schedules will be provided by the Tournament Director by June 12, 2026.

  • The tournament format will be determined by the total number of registered players/teams in each age bracket. 

  • Format will be posted on the website, and emails will be sent to all registered athletes prior to the competition.

  • The tournament will use 11-inch slow pitch balls. (.47 core and a compression rating of no more than 525 psi).  Balls will be provided by the Ohio Senior Olympics.

  • Teams will be required to provide their own gloves, bats, and practice balls.

‍The 2027 National Senior Games will be utilizing SSUSA rules.  The Ohio qualifier will also adhere to SSUSA rules.  The complete rule book can be found at:  https://seniorsoftball.com/wc/wc2026/SSUSA-Rulebook-2026-Web.pdf.

‍Please note two rules of importance:

‍Rule 3.10 Noisemakers

‍Artificial noisemakers, including music, are not allowed if they interfere with any games being played, or if they contain inappropriate language. If, after a warning, a team refuses to eliminate the noise or music, a violation will involve either a manager's ejection or the team's game forfeiture.

‍Rule 12 of the NSGA rule modifications states:

12. Base Overrun: Women age divisions 70+ and 75+ and 80+ can run through 2nd and 3rd base without the possibility of being tagged out unless an attempt is made or a turn toward the next base is indicated.

‍This rule will be utilized for the women’s 70+ age group for the qualifier.‍ ‍

    • Held after event completion

    • Must be present to receive medals

    • 2026 is a qualifying year for the 2027 National Senior Games

    • All details and events are subject to change based on registration numbers, weather conditions, venue availability, and other reasons. 

    • Withdrawals and no-shows will negatively impact brackets and heats.

    • Absolutely no day of event registration permitted.

    • ALL athletes competing in the Ohio Senior Olympics (OSO) are expected to read and comply with the: Athlete Code of Conduct and State Competition Protest Policy

All rules, policies, and the code of conduct can be found in the ‘About OSO and FAQ’ section. Athletes should know and understand the rules specific to their sport. The OSO uses the rule book created by the National Senior Games Association for those sports that are offered at the National Senior Games. Rules for those events not offered at the National Senior Games are those of the official organizing body.
